The islands

The islands are interactive music generators, not virtual instruments. They listen to the child's voice, touch or movement and answer with music created in that moment. Each island declares which of the child's choices it observes, which settings the therapist can adjust and which data it records.

  • Echora Available

    Input: Touch and voice

A glowing steel drum inside a sun: every touch becomes a note that Echora weaves with harmonies and soft percussion. The therapist chooses the scale, the starting note and the instrument; in active mode Echora also listens to the voice. The therapist can also open the original, full Echora as their own instrument.

  • Echo Cave Available

    Input: Voice

The child's voice comes back transformed: higher or lower, harmonised, in canon. With the challenge, the cave suggests a short melodic shape to imitate.

  • Seagull Dialogue Available

    Input: Voice or touch

Call and response: the island sings a phrase and waits for the child's answer. The next phrase adapts to that answer, and the dialogue can be listened to again in the Time Machine.

  • Hot-air Balloon Available

    Input: Voice

A sung note makes the balloon rise or sink. Holding the note long enough reaches the shown height, tuned to the child's voice.

  • Rain Available

    Input: Touch

Each touch is a tuned drop over a harmonic carpet. The tempo can follow the child or gently lead towards a calmer or livelier rhythm.

  • Sound Necklace Available

    Input: Touch

The child threads sound beads on a string that repeats in a loop, building and varying their own sequences.

  • Fireflies Available

    Input: Movement

Body movement lights up fireflies and different sounds in each area of the screen. The camera image is processed on the device and never saved.

  • Musical Statues Available

    Input: Movement

Music and movement stop and start together. With the challenge the lead switches: the music decides when to stop.

  • Calm Island Available

    Input: Minimal touch

A soundscape that slows down little by little. The child only chooses the elements: waves, birds, bells.

  • Sound Memory Available

    Input: Touch

The classic memory game, with cards that reveal generated sounds: pairs are matched by timbre, pitch or rhythm.

  • Music Park Available

Input: Touch and movement, together with others

Several children from the same practice play together at a distance, each with their own instrument, on the same pulse and harmony, guided by the music therapist. The others appear only as avatars and stick figures. Only with the family's consent.

My sound

Throughout the archipelago the child is accompanied by their own avatar, which reacts to their gestures. The therapist decides what can be personalised and how often; the avatar grows richer with participation over time, never with performance.

Calm and accessible

Soft colours, large touch areas, reduced animations when needed, maximum volume set by the therapist. A shared calibration lets one island use, for example, the vocal range measured in another.
